On Wednesday evening, as night fell over Le Mans, the cars took to the track for this first night session. Like during the qualifying tests, Algarve Pro Racing did not take to the track due to their accident in Free Practice 1. The Proton Competition’s Porsche 93 was also unable to participate in the session following Michael Fassbender’s accident in qualifying.

This session got off to a bad start for the Proton Competition’s Porsche 77, which suffered a puncture in the first few minutes of the session. However, it was able to rejoin the track without any issues.

In the Hypercar category, the number 7 Toyota continues its run and takes the lead, thanks to Brendon Hartley, with a time of 3’29”164. Shortly after, Romain Dumas on the Glickenhaus 708 takes back the top spot in the rankings with a time of 3’28”900 and never lets go until the end of the session. The benchmark will not be improved.

Like in the first practice and qualifying session, the Alpine is still far behind as it is 3.7 seconds off the leaders’ times, with a deficit of 15 km/h on the straight. However, it is still ahead of the first LMP2, the WRT number 31, which completed this session in 3’33”119.

In LMGTE PRO, the battle between Corvette and Porsche continues while the Ferrari from Team AF Corse are still struggling.
