24 Hours of Le Mans – Race: It’s over for Corvette
The two Corvettes had to retire from the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The first one due to significant damage and the second one following an accident.

It’s a real disaster for the American team. After dominating the qualifying rounds and the beginning of the race, fate has turned against the two Corvettes. Firstly, car number 63 was brought back to the pit for its team due to visible and invisible damages. The team gave up around 9:50 am.
Next, it was car number 64 that had to retire following a rather violent accident on the Hunaudières straight. In the midst of a battle between an Algarve Pro Racing car and the AF Corse team’s Oreca car, car number 83. The latter swerved to the left and collided with the yellow car, sending it into the barriers. The impact broke the suspension and the driver couldn’t continue. In a matter of minutes, Corvette lost both of its cars and any chances of winning. Car number 83 received a 3-minute stop and go penalty for the incident.
