Toyota dominates the Sebring prologue
The Japanese builder achieved the best time during the Sebring prologue. With their two Hypercars, they completed over 3,500 kilometers.

Will Toyota’s dominance continue? After saving the top category of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) by deciding to stay, the Japanese team has seen new competitors arrive. First Glickenhaus, then Alpine. In 2023, the French team returned to LMP2, but Cadillac, Ferrari, Vanwall, and Peugeot joined the Hypercar category.
All these cars met for the prologue, organized in Sebring on March 11th and 12th. And right from Saturday morning, Toyota displayed an impressive pace by setting the fastest time of the weekend, with José Maria Lopez recording a time of 1:48.208s.
Things have been going well so far here in Sebring. The tests went quite well and the lap times seem good, but obviously it was only a test; the race week will be different. We need to see where we can improve. We have a new competition this season, but in reality the task doesn’t change during the tests and training, admits Kamui Kobayashi, driver of car number 7.
The two cars entered by Toyota completed 587 laps, for a total of 3,500 kilometers.
