There will be a fleet of Porsches on the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit. For the centenary, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer will be represented with four cars. Two factory cars, another one officially entered by Penske, and a last one, private, with Jota.

Six years after leaving the top category of endurance, Porsche wants to make an impact. In addition to a special livery to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the race and the 75th anniversary of the brand’s sports section, Porsche is getting involved in charity.

The German stable announced that a check of €750, for each lap completed by the three official cars, will be given to three nonprofit organizations that assist children around the world.

If the reliability is up to par for the three Hypercars from Stuttgart, over 300 laps should be completed, which could result in a very large check for the charitable sector.
