Their weekend was, once again, almost perfect. On the Japanese track, the Iron Dames clocked the second best time during qualifying, less than a tenth of a second behind the Corvette in pole position. In the race, the pink girls were at the forefront of the 6 hours of Fuji.

The first two relays saw Sarah Bovy battling against the Corvette #33, with intense battles. After two hours, Rahel Frey took over from the Belgian driver, but the pace slowed down a bit. However, the Swiss driver remained among the top three in the category before dropping to fourth place.

Aiming for victory in Bahrain

At the end of the race, the third Iron Lady, Michelle Gatting, picked up the pace from the start of the race, but she was unable to rejoin the leading trio. In the end, she has to settle for fourth place.

« We can be happy today with fourth place and with everything we have achieved together. Of course, the podium was very close, and we were hoping for it at one point. In the end, we showed that the pink car was fighting at the front of the race, throughout the race, just like throughout the WEC season. It is certain that we will try again to seek that first victory in Bahrain, which is a circuit that we really like », announces Sarah Bovy.

The Iron Dames currently hold second place in the team standings. Although they are far behind the already crowned Corvette, Deborah Mayer’s team will try to maintain this position against the Aston Martin of Ort by TF. The pink ladies have 79 points compared to their opponents’ 73.
