There is only one race left for Gustavo Menezes with Peugeot. It is on his Instagram account that the 28-year-old driver announced that he will not be racing with the French team next year. His journey will therefore come to an end after the 8 hours of Bahrain on November 4th.

« After a three-year journey, filled with ups and downs, Bahrain will officially be my last race with Peugeot in the FIA WEC. It has been an absolute pleasure to build this project together and create memories that will last a lifetime. While one door closes, others open. It is too early to share all my plans for 2024 with you, but they are going to progress quickly. He revealed, “I wish good luck to the team.”

Stoffel Vandoorne to replace him?

The American is part of the crew of number 94, alongside Loïc Duval and Nico Muller. Following the departure of the American, several rumors indicate that Stoffel Vandoorne could succeed him. The Belgian was present at the 6 Hours of Fuji last week to replace the injured Nico Muller.

Although he is already committed to Formula E next year, the Belgian does not refute the idea of participating in the WEC 2024 season. « I am a racing driver and I want to drive in as many programs as possible. The more you can drive, the better. People sometimes say that it’s not good to combine programs because they are different cars. I think the opposite. I think it’s actually a good thing to combine different cars because you learn different skills for each of them. »
