Mick Schumacher tested the Alpine A424

As anticipated for several weeks, the German has taken the wheel of the tricolor Hypercar. And this, with a view to joining the Alpine endurance program, next year.

Is this a first step towards formalization? For several weeks, many rumors have been circulating about a rapprochement between Alpine and Mick Schumacher. These seem to be confirmed. The German took the wheel of the French brand’s Hypercar, in Jerez.

For the first time in his career, the former Haas driver took the wheel of a prototype, him who essentially piloted a single-seater. Although these initial wheel turns did take place, Alpine has not officially communicated about this event. Therefore, there is no reason to be overly excited about the German’s future in endurance.

However, the line-up of Alpine seems to gradually take shape. Since Charles Milesi, Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxivière have all three tested the Alpine on different circuits in recent weeks.

Mick Schumacher’s run would have been quite short. But it would have allowed him to apprehend this prototype, decked out in blue for the first time. This test probably served as a starting point for Alpine, who confirmed some time ago their interest in the young 24-year-old driver.
