Toyota wants to finish the WEC season in style
This weekend, the Japanese manufacturer arrives in Bahrain as the reigning world constructors' champion. However, the drivers' title has not yet been awarded, and both Toyota crews have a chance to win it.

So which of the two cars will be crowned? In the drivers’ standings, both Toyota teams still have a chance to win the title. While car number 8 is currently in the lead, car number 7 is still within reach following its victory at the 6 Hours of Fuji.
The trio of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and José María López already have four victories this season and they can win a fifth, which would be historic. And this historical aspect is on the minds of the three drivers. However, even in case of a victory, the title would not be secured. In order for the crew of car number 7 to become champions, the sister car must not finish better than third.
“The season has been exciting so far and all the team members have enjoyed competing against our new Hypercar rivals. We still have a major goal to achieve in Bahrain: the drivers’ championship title. It won’t be easy for our car number 7 as we have a few points behind, but we will continue to fight and try to secure our fifth victory of the season,” announces Kamui Kobayashi, driver of car number 7.
The most important point is that one of our cars wins the title and everyone will work hard to achieve it. Bahrain has been a successful circuit for us in the past and we want to maintain that record, but the competition will be strong once again, and we saw at Fuji that Porsche is now a serious competitor, just like Ferrari, so it will be a close battle. We have prepared well and we are looking forward to it.
