Peugeot wants to compete with the leading group in Bahrain

For the final round of the season, Peugeot hopes to display a better level of performance than during the 6 Hours of Fuji, a month ago.

During the Japanese round, reliability was on point. But not performance. This has been Peugeot’s dilemma since the beginning of the season. It is difficult to combine these two aspects. When the car matches the pace of the leaders, parts give up, and when they hold up, the Lioness is relegated to the background.

In Bahrain, for the last race of the season, Peugeot hopes that reliability and performance will go hand in hand. The team has done significant work during the break since Fuji. The stakes will therefore be multiple, including managing the temperature, the 8-hour race which adds an extra difficulty factor, and tire management which will be crucial for us and our drivers. The objective for this final round will be to keep both cars at a reliability level that allows them to have a smooth race, in order to stay close to the top of the standings and be able to develop strategic opportunities that can lead to good sporting results, hopes Olivier Jansonnie, the technical director of Peugeot Sport.

Behind the wheel of the Peugeot 9X8, the crews will be once again complete with the return of Nico Müller alongside Loïc Duval and Gustavo Menezes in the #94. The #93 will be driven by Jean-Eric Vergne, Paul Di Resta, and Mikkel Jensen for this final race.
