Bahrain, Alpine’s last race before its return to the premier category
The French stable will participate in the 8 Hours of Bahrain for the last time in the LMP2 category. Next year, Alpine will be present in the Hypercar category.

This last race is not going to be simple. Located in the desert, the Bahrain circuit is very challenging. Firstly, because the track is very abrasive and it significantly degrades the tires. Furthermore, the sand brought in by the wind does not allow for a high level of grip and further degrades the tires.
The sand on the track accelerates tire degradation, so we will have to find the right balance with our crews, not forgetting the high temperature variations between day and night. These aspects will be crucial, especially in a longer race than usual. Lastly, it’s a true passing of the torch with this last race in LMP2 and with the Alpine A470. This car and this category have allowed us to write beautiful chapters in our racing history. We are therefore ready to give it our all to achieve the best possible farewell before looking ahead to 2024, warns Philippe Sinault, the team manager.
If this season hasn’t been glorious for Alpine, Bahrain has often been successful for them. The team achieved pole position from 2015 to 2017, they also secured a podium finish in LMP2 in 2016 before stepping onto the Hypercar podium three times during the 6 Hours of Bahrain 2021 and the 8 Hours of Bahrain 2021 and 2022.
Once the race is over, Alpine and Signatch will resume the development of the A424, which will be on the track next year.
