They came within a hair’s breadth of a pole position: the Cadillac drivers, especially with No. 2 and No. 3, will try to get on the right track. The start will require having the right drivers in terms of pace for the three American prototypes.

To each his due: the best placed of the V-Series R (the yellow No.3) will logically be entrusted to Sébastien Bourdais, who came close to signing the pole at his home. He will start from 2nd place. He will be supported by Scott Dixon, followed by the Dutchman Renger van der Zande.

Car number 2 (blue), in the 2nd time of the Hyperpole before the application of its penalty, will also be entrusted to its qualifying officer, Alex Lynn. The British driver could have clinched pole position, even if it was just a moral one, but he will have a good starting position from 7th place. Earl Bamber will take over, followed by Alex Palou.

Finally, on the side of the second guest car, the red No. 311, Brazilian Pipo Derani will be entrusted with the chances of a car without a good result last year. Let’s remember that, during the first lap, Jack Aitken had started and crashed coming out of the Daytona chicane, in rainy conditions.

Jack Aitken, justly, will take over from Derani, before giving way to Aston Martin F1 test driver Felipe Drugovich.
