24 Heures du Mans – Warm up: Kubica leads, Ferrari leads all classes

The N°83 AF Corse set the fastest time in the warm-up session on Saturday lunchtime, in conditions bordering on rain. The Pole was ahead of the second official Ferrari, N°51. AF Corse in LMP2 and GR Racing in LMGT3 enabled Ferrari, with all its branches, to lead everywhere.

The sky was very threatening for this final rehearsal before the start of the main event. The warm-up was launched with a slight delay (three minutes), as the track was declared wet. A few drops were announced in the North part of the circuit.

The BMW Art Car (No. 20) left in front of everyone, while the six Porsche 963 had lined up in battle formation in the Hunaudières.

Nyck de Vries, in the Toyota No. 7, was surprised by the Lexus slowing down in front of him. He hit the back of it and damaged the front of his prototype. Meanwhile, Ferrari No. 83 set the best time in 3:30.390., ahead of the official Marnello No. 51.

AF Corse, with Oreca No. 183, was leading in LMP2, while GR Racing ensured Ferrari, with all its branches, to be at the top of all categories. The Alpine No. 35 of Charles Milesi was the best French car, in 3rd place in Hypercar.

The ranking has hardly changed, as this warm-up was mainly there for a final check-up before the start. Now it’s time for the big departure at 4 p.m., for 24 hours that promise to be crazy, as the rain started to fall just after the end of the warm-up!
