A dramatic turn of events: the N°83 Ferrari receives a penalty
The decision was just waiting to be confirmed: AF Corse's N°83 Ferrari was penalized following contact with the N°15 BMW. Robert Kubica was deemed responsible for the accident.

After an endless intervention by the safety car, the verdict fell: Ferrari No.83 (Kubica/Shwartzman/Ye) was found responsible for the accident involving it and BMW No.15 of Dries Vanthoor. Indeed, the Pole turned the steering wheel to the right, trying to overtake a delayed LMGT3.
The AF Corse team members, when questioned by the stewards, considered that Dries Vanthoor’s car No. 15 did not have to fight for a position, as he was on an out lap and moreover, not on the same lap.
Robert Kubica and his teammates will have to serve a 30-second stop and go penalty at their next pit stop, while they were comfortably leading the race since the first downpour in the late afternoon.
The “private” Ferrari trio will then have to try to catch up with the Toyota No. 8, which is closely following them. At the time of writing these lines
