Laurens Vanthoor’s XXL feat at the 24 Hours of Le Mans
The Belgian spent the most time behind the wheel over the whole race. The driver of the #6 Porsche spent almost half the event in his Hypercar.

It was close to the 12-hour mark being reached. At Le Mans, Laurens Vanthoor drove for a long time. A very long time. The Belgian spent 11 hours and 44 minutes behind the wheel of his Porsche #6. He is the driver who spent the most time at the wheel during the endurance race.
Despite the fatigue at the wheel, he didn’t give up and was fighting to get on the podium in the final moments. But the Ferrari #51 did not make it easy for him and did not give in. In the end, the crew finished just one second away from the podium. A mixed performance for the German manufacturer. On one hand, the 963 has made significant progress compared to last year. But on the other hand, it’s the first time the Hypercar is not represented on the podium this season.
During these 24 hours, six drivers have exceeded 10 hours of driving. In addition to Laurens Vanthoor, Dennis Olsen (Ford #88 – 10:40), Andrea Caldarelli (Lamborghini #19 – 10:31), Jack Hawksworth (Lexus #87 – 10:28), Christopher Mies (Ford #44 – 10:12), and Richard Lietz (Porsche #91 – 10:06) have achieved such a feat.
