24 heures du Mans: Mécénat chirurgie cardiaque collects a record amount in 24 hours
The Mécénat chirurgie cardiaque association raises just over 288,000 euros for children with heart problems thanks to its 24h For Kids initiative at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Mécénat chirurgie cardiaque, an association that allows children with heart defects from disadvantaged countries to undergo surgery in France, partners with many athletes throughout the year. This year, it partnered with the most legendary endurance car race.
In partnership with the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2009, the association had relaunched the 24h For Kids initiative for this year 2024, a program aimed at raising money to save 24 children. The fundraising, done during the race, had already reached a historic record the previous year. This year, a little over 288,000 euros were raised for children with heart conditions.
Thanks to its many partnerships, including the Panis Racing team competing in LMP2 and the ACO, the objective was able to be achieved. As every year, the association was present at the circuit with their solidarity stand, offering entertainment and especially a sales stand with collectible products from the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The online fund has raised a little over 263,000 euros, enough to save 21 children with heart problems. On this occasion, the association took the opportunity to thank its donors and its team on social media.
This initiative once again shows that motorsport can bring about beautiful things and that fans are always ready to come together to defend causes that are dear to them.
