The Iron Dames had the pace to make the podium in Austin
After surprising qualifications, the Iron Ladies showed that they had the level to compete in Austin. But a unfortunate contact with Corvette, they lost everything.

There is reason to regret. In the United States, the Iron Ladies had a difficult start to their weekend. But in qualifying, they turned things around to clock the second fastest time, just behind the Heart of Racing’s Aston Martin. Once again, Sarah Bovy showed all her qualities behind the wheel of the Lamborghini.
The Belgian kept the same pace during her first relays to keep this precious second position. She even challenged the leading Aston Martin. A position that the pink car managed to take before the baton was passed to Rahel Frey, the second driver to take the wheel.
The Suissesse’s relay was much more delicate. On the hunt to retrieve the GT3 group’s orders, she was involved in a contact with the TF Sport’s Corvette #82. Forced to stop for repairs, the #85 lost four laps in the pit lane but resumed the race, still with Rahel Frey in the cockpit in 17th position.
« Unfortunately, shortly after giving the car to Rahel, we came into contact with another car. The latter was penalized for the incident, but we had a broken suspension, which cost us three laps in the pit lane. It is obviously not pleasant to fight alone, but we tried to reach the finish line because that’s what we do, analyzes Sarah Bovy.
Before passing the baton to Michelle Gatting, the last driver of the trio, the Swiss driver had managed to regain a position. The Dane did a double stint before handing over the car to Rahel Frey, who took the #85 to the checkered flag, finishing 13th.
The Iron Dames will try to forget this bad moment in Fuji in a few days to find the joys of top positions.
