They finally made it. After several third or second positions, Cadillac finally touches the Grail during qualifying. At Fuji, the big American V8 showed all its efficiency to surpass the favorites Porsche and Toyota, battling for the world crown.

At the wheel of the race car with number 2 gave it all, but the Japanese threat was not far behind. The Toyota #8 is only 41 thousandths behind the Cadillac.

This very brief moment rewards a huge amount of work on the part of the American brand, which has been unlucky this season. Between the accident at Spa when a good result was possible and the frustration of the qualifying session at Le Mans, Cadillac seemed to have a black cat in its ranks. In Fuji, this black cat was clearly not present.

The sign of a great race?

« It’s so good. Honestly, we have put in a lot of efforts all year. I must say that this car is amazing on a lap. Congratulations to Cadillac. I just wanted to give the team a pole position this year. We were so close to the goal several times and I am so proud to have achieved it », tells Alex Lynn, satisfied, the poleman.

This result bodes well for Cadillac this Sunday, September 15th. With an interesting race pace, the #2 car could achieve a great result in this penultimate race of the season.

“It’s a great result for the team today. We’ve been waiting for this for a long time. These two years have been interesting because we’ve been preparing for this result. Alex has been fantastic, the team has been fantastic, so I’m looking forward to a great race tomorrow,” announced Stephen Mitas, team manager.
