She was the first car to throw in the towel. The Lamborghini #63 is not seeing life through rose-colored glasses this season of the world championship. Frequently at the back of the pack, the Italian Hypercar once displayed an interesting pace at Fuji. This confirmed its first entry into hyperpole.

Shortly after four hours of racing, Daniil Kvyat experienced a mechanical problem while shifting gears. Shortly after, the Russian had to park the Lamborghini on the side of the track to call it quits.

An engine problem

There were many encouraging signs this weekend. The highlight was the qualification, as we entered the Hyperpole for the first time. We managed to place the car in the working window and now we need to understand how to do it consistently. Even the race pace was encouraging, somewhere in the top 10. Then the powertrain issue occurred and we had to stop on track. It’s a shame and a bit frustrating, but that’s racing, summarizes Daniil Kvyat.

The Iron Lynx team will have a break in the World Endurance Championship. In the meantime, two races in IMSA are on the calendar: Indianapolis and then Road Atlanta. After that, see you in Bahrain in late October for the final round of the WEC.

See you in Bahrain

The team’s objective will be to continue its momentum during the final of the series on the international circuit of Bahrain, in order to pave the way for a promising new race and to lay the best foundations for the preparations for the 2025 season, hopes the team operating the Lamborghini Hypercar.

This will be an opportunity to take off from the last position in the standings, regained this weekend after the good result of the Peugeot #94.
