I am over the moon at Pure Racing, there is pride after the GT3 title
With a second place in Fuji, the #92 Pure Racing team clinched the GT3 title. This concludes a season of domination for the Porsche crew.
They did it. The three members of the Porsche #92 made a great comeback at Fuji to win this GT3 crown. Very poorly qualified, 14th, the Manthey Pure Rxcing car managed to climb up the hierarchy as the laps went on, first entering the points zone and then appearing on the podium.
With a second position in the end, the hardest part was done. But before celebrating, it was necessary to wait for the official result of the race. In order to clinch the title in the category, the Porsche #91, the main rival in the championship, had to score 11 points less than the #92.
Porsche #91 out of the Top 10
Having suffered a puncture, the Manthey EMA’s Porsche lost a lot of time and therefore finished outside the Top 10. It did not score any points in Japan.
« I am extremely proud of the team! Once again, we have turned a race in our favor with a very good strategy and zero mistakes, because we were not the fastest on the track,” rejoiced Nikolas Raeder, general manager of Manthey. « The three drivers of car #92 also did a perfect job. The end of the season in Bahrain will be exciting for us, as we can still win the vice-championship with car #91. It would of course be a great conclusion for us. »
Another challenge to face
This title rewards an almost perfect season for the crew of the white Porsche. The team dominated the season as there is still one race to be held, which will take place in Bahrain at the end of October – beginning of November.
(I) I’m over the moon – thanks to all the team members for making it happen today. An excellent strategic decision propelled us to the forefront right from the start of the race. In the end, we were in rhythm with our Porsche, even though the car wasn’t the fastest due to the extra 40 kg. Thanks to a flawless performance, we won the world championship with a second-place finish before the end of the season. For me personally, this is a dream come true.
