It is not the team that has impressed the most this season. But it is there, at the forefront with Porsche. The two manufacturers are fighting for the last two crowns to be awarded: the drivers’ and constructors’ titles in Hypercar.

The Japanese team is in a bad position in this final round of the World Endurance Championship. It is ten points behind in the constructors’ championship and the #8 car is 37 points behind in the drivers’ title race.

The challenge is going to be complicated because something unfortunate will have to happen to Porsche for Toyota to have hope. But also finish in front of Ferrari and its #50 to overtake it in the individual championship.

Bahrain is a circuit that has been successful for Toyota in recent seasons with two victories obtained here. A third victory would guarantee a new title for the Japanese firm. It is the end of an exciting season full of challenges. As a team, we have experienced great moments, but also difficult ones, like the last race at Fuji Speedway. The competition has been incredibly tough throughout the season, but thanks to everyone’s effort, we approach the final race with the destiny of the constructors’ world championship in our hands. We know that a victory would give us the title, so it is our goal, and everyone will give their best to achieve it. We need a perfect weekend and we are ready to take on the challenge, explains Kamui Kobayashi, driver of the #7 car and team principal.

Despite the daunting challenge, the six drivers remain motivated and ready to embark on the mission that awaits them.

« Our goal in Bahrain is to win the race and therefore the World Championship, but it won’t be easy. Our competitors were strong in Fuji, and we expect another tough race, but we are fighting as hard as possible, and we will not give up. We must be fully focused throughout the weekend to get the best performance from our car. If we succeed, we have a chance, so we will continue to push to finish the season in style and give all our supporters and partners a result to applaud, adds Ryo Hirakawa from #8.
