Théo Pourchaire joins the Peugeot program in WEC as a test driver
It's official! Théo Pourchaire has been appointed as a development driver for Peugeot in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), after completing the Rookie Test with the French manufacturer.

Without a seat for the 2025 season, Théo Pourchaire has a new opportunity to demonstrate his driving skills. He has been appointed test and development driver for Peugeot in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). The 21-year-old French driver had already experienced driving a prototype, especially the 9X8, during the WEC Rookie Tests in November with the French manufacturer.
In 2025, he will participate in the team’s private test sessions and play a key role in the development of the car. Théo Pourchaire could also have the opportunity to take part in WEC races, in case of unavailability of a regular driver.
Théo Pourchaire expressed himself after the announcement: “I am very enthusiastic about joining Peugeot Sport as a development driver for the upcoming season; it’s an incredible opportunity. I see this as a fresh start, as endurance racing is a new challenge for me. I really enjoyed the Rookie Tests in Bahrain, which went very well. The PEUGEOT 9X8 is a very powerful car, completely different from anything I have driven before. Endurance cars are extremely advanced and at the forefront of technology, which brings them closer to Formula 1 cars. Being a test driver is a fantastic opportunity, and I am grateful to the Peugeot TotalEnergies team for offering me this chance. I am looking forward to starting in this new role.”
Olivier Jansonnie, Technical Director of Peugeot Sport: “We are thrilled to welcome Théo Pourchaire to the Peugeot TotalEnergies team as a development driver. During the Rookie Tests in Bahrain, he showed great potential and a deep understanding of the unique characteristics of our car. Théo brings a fresh perspective with his single-seater experience, which is a valuable asset for the development of our endurance program. We are looking forward to working with him and fully integrating him into our team.”
