Eight drivers, but only two full-time in IMSA. The other six will be driving in the American championship and the WEC. Philipp Eng and Marco Wittmann will be at the wheel of the BMW M Hybrid V8 starting from the 24 Hours of Daytona, the first round of the IMSA.

Robin Frijns, Kevin Magnussen, recently joined the German team, Raffaele Marciello, René Rast, Sheldon Van Der Linde and Dries Vanthoor will participate in both the WEC and IMSA.

Kevin Magnussen in the #15

Kevin Magnussen will be behind the wheel of the #15 in the World Endurance Championship, replacing Marco Wittmann, who will be engaged full-time on the other side of the Atlantic. The Dane will share the LMDh with Dries Vanthoor and Raffaele Marciello, as planned.

For the 6 Hours of Spa, BMW will have to do without Dries Vanthoor and Sheldon van der Linde, who are occupied with a race at Laguna Seca, which will be held at the same time as the Belgian WEC event.

We have high goals for the upcoming season with our prototypes. To achieve them, we strive to optimize all areas. For our drivers, this means focusing and specializing. The more time our drivers spend behind the wheel of the BMW M Hybrid V8, the better they will understand its behavior, and the more feedback they can provide to our engineers. The goal is to intensify the development of the BMW M Hybrid V8 in collaboration with the specialists from the teams and BMW M Motorsport. The fact that some drivers participate in both championships also helps us improve the exchange of information, says Andreas Roos, head of BMW M Motorsport.
