Peugeot and Théo Pourchaire conducted a testing session with the 9X8
The test and development driver of the lion brand completed a driving session in early January on the Castellet circuit.

He is taming the car. A few weeks after participating in the Rookies test of the World Endurance Championship, Théo Pourchaire was once again on duty in recent days. The new test driver for the French team was at Castellet for a run with the Peugeot Hypercar, the 9X8.
« We drove a lot, which is very positive. We didn’t have much downtime, and that allowed all the drivers to complete many laps. I think it’s the first time I’ve driven so much! It’s positive because I have a lot to learn, whether it’s working with the engineers, the mechanics. But I also need to learn to drive this car, which is completely new to me. It’s a car with a lot of systems and technology to grasp », analyzed the Formula 2 champion in 2023.
This was his first endurance session with this car. The conditions were quite different from what he experienced last November in Bahrain. The dry and hot weather was replaced here by much cooler conditions. « It’s much more pleasant inside the cockpit. I was very surprised in Bahrain by the heat in the cabin, I wasn’t used to driving in a closed car. I had to adapt to it. The Circuit du Castellet, with many long straights, was also a bit less physical. »
