The German will be part of the IDEC Sport team for the double-header. The structure is acquiring the services of a man with experience, but whose recent performances have not won him over.

This will be his 14th participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Andre Lotterer made a strong impression in Sarthe with his engagements with Audi, Rebellion, and more recently, Porsche.

The three-time winner of the event is one of the most experienced here. However, in his latest outings with the Stuttgart brand, his performance level had significantly dropped. The team used him much less than his teammates Kévin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor.

But it doesn’t matter. The 43-year-old man will be back on the starting grid next June. He has been called up by IDEC Sport. The team received two entries for the event. However, one of its drivers, Dani Juncadella, will not be able to take the wheel of the LMP2, as he is already under contract in GT3 with the #33 Corvette.

To make up for his absence, IDEC Sport has called on Andre Lotterer. This opportunity was discussed from the start, and I am thrilled to be able to bring my experience to the team. Le Mans is always a special challenge, and I have already exchanged ideas with Mathys (Jaubert) and Jamie (Chadwick) to optimize our preparation, highlighted the German.

« His expertise in Le Mans is an invaluable asset », added Cyril Abiteboul, the president of Hyundai Motorsport. As a reminder, Genesis, Hyundai’s premium brand, is associated with IDEC Sport.
