WEC: BMW soon available to private teams?
Several organizations have expressed interest in the German manufacturer's Hypercar.

The performances of BMW are clearly attracting more and more people. After an excellent start to the season in the World Endurance Championship, the German brand has received a number of inquiries to utilize the cars of the company with the propeller logo.
There is naturally an ongoing study in Munich to identify the most interesting clients and verify the feasibility of renting the hypercars to private entities. There is interest from client teams. If we need to entrust LMDh cars to private teams, we will do so according to the rules of the art. But having private M Hybrid V8s must make sense, both for us at BMW M and for our clientele, explains Andreas Roos, head of competition at BMW.
If this scenario were to happen, it is likely that it would occur in IMSA rather than in WEC. The American championship grid can still accommodate a few more competitors. Meanwhile, in the World Endurance Championship, with the upcoming arrival of Genesis, Ford, and McLaren, we will quickly reach saturation. Otherwise, it would be at the expense of the GT3s. But that doesn’t seem to be a feasible clause given how attractive this category is.
