6 Hours of Sao Paulo – Free Practice 1: Porsche, Ferrari and BMW in a dead heat
Three brands stood out in the first free practice session of the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo. Porsche led by a narrow margin.

A first indication. Despite a BoP that is unfavorable on paper, Ferrari is still able to fight at the front. The Italian brand secured the second-fastest time thanks to the #50, just 84 thousandths behind the Porsche #6 (1’25″176”).
Behind, BMW also displayed a solid pace in this first run, as did Toyota. The two Cadillacs made it into the top 10 in this initial outing. The Alpine #36, in 8th place, was the only French car to feature in the top part of the leaderboard, along with the Peugeot #94, in 9th. The sister hypercar of Alpine finished 13th and the other Lioness, 11th.
Note also the very impressive performance of the Aston Martin #009, which finished three-tenths behind the Porsche #6 and secured the tenth-fastest time.
In GT3, unsurprisingly, it was the two Akkodis Lexus cars that led the charge ahead of the #33 TF Sport Corvette. Racing Spirit of Léman, somewhat on home turf thanks to Eduardo Barrichello, was fourth.
The two Porsches from Iron Dames and Manthey occupied the last two positions. A surprising result. Certainly, the two cars had different work focuses.
