Between performance and unreliability for Mercedes at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo
The two Mercedes cars set a strong pace before falling back due to penalties. A reliability problem forced the #61 to retire.

They displayed a great pace all weekend. After good qualifying sessions, the Mercedes could foresee a podium finish in their category. But the numerous driver errors dashed the hopes of the star-branded cars.
The #61 was penalized with two drive-throughs in less than twenty minutes. This relegated the car driven, among others, by Maxime Martin. It later retired from the race.
« It was truly a promising weekend. We were quite competitive throughout the weekend and we made progress from one race to the next. We are happy about that. We had a good qualifying and a good start to the race. We were in the leading positions. Unfortunately, a technical issue forced us to retire. It’s a good lesson, it’s promising, we are improving and we look forward to the next race », announced Maxime Martin from #61.
On the other side of the garage, for #60, while the beginning of the race was positive, the yellow Mercedes quickly lost ground and ultimately finished in last place in the GT3 category.
