After a low-yield Spanish weekend, McLaren is approaching its home Grand Prix, just like seven other teams. As it's time to pack their bags to return to England, Red Bull Racing's performance has been mixed. While Mark Webber climbed from 19th on the grid to 4th, thanks to an offbeat strategy that ensured fresher tires towards the end of the race, Sebastian Vettel was forced to retire while on course for victory, due to an alternator issue similar to the one encountered by Romain Grosjean.

Caterham, already the best team among the new entrants in F1 in 2010, continues to progress in the World Championship hierarchy. While Vitaly Petrov remains confined to Q1, Heikki Kovalainen has had the luxury of beating a Toro Rosso in every session he participated in.

McLaren is experiencing a difficult start to the weekend, with Jenson Button encountering braking issues and Lewis Hamilton finding his car moderately well balanced. While missing out on a good performance on Friday is never ideal, the team from Woking is counting on tomorrow to make adjustments to their MP4-27s and rectify the situation.

The day was productive for Force India. The cars in the colors of India were in their element throughout the day, and the three drivers - Jules Bianchi having preceded Nico Hülkenberg in the seat of the second VJM05 this morning - expressed their satisfaction with their car.

Since the private tests at Mugello, Ferrari's Fridays have been very studious, with the flow of new parts remaining continuous. Today was no exception, as the Scuderia undertook valuable work evaluating these new components. Work they hope will pay off tomorrow but especially on Sunday.
