Official: The RB15, Red Bull’s new weapon for the 2019 season
Red Bull creates a surprise with its new livery heavily featuring red, reminiscent of the color of its new engine supplier Honda. The RB15 will be entrusted this year to Max Verstappen and the Frenchman Pierre Gasly.
The presentations keep coming on this busy day for Formula 1. After Mercedes unveiled its W10, it’s Red Bull’s turn to present the new RB15 that will take part in the Formula 1 season.
This new single-seater breaks the usual color codes of the Austrian energy drink brand to highlight the red of its new engine partner, Honda. It will be entrusted to Max Verstappen and the newcomer Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman is taking advantage of Daniel Ricciardo’s departure to Renault, whose car was presented yesterday, to make the big leap from Toro Rosso to Red Bull.
But the big news this year is about the engine. Goodbye Renault and hello Honda, which Toro Rosso tested last year in order to confirm the progress made by the Japanese manufacturer after three nightmare years with McLaren.
The performance, but also the reliability of this RB15, will be closely monitored during the season.
