George Russell is also summoned by the stewards for failing to respect the yellow flags during the qualifying session.
The stewards definitely have their hands full this Saturday afternoon after the qualifying session since after having summoned Norris and Stroll for not respecting the yellow flags, it is now Russell who is summoned for the same investigation.
Lance Stroll was subsequently exonerated and retains his pole position on the grid this Sunday.
The actions attributed to the Williams driver involve the non-compliance with Article 2.5.5.1 b) of Annex H of the International Sporting Code and Article 7.2 of the race director’s notes. These two articles relate to the yellow flags shown during the qualifying session.
These events occurred during the session at turn 3 at 4:06 PM local time. The driver will be heard at 7:45 PM local time with a representative from his team.
