Grand Prix d’Emilie-Romagne – Key figures
This weekend, Imola hosts the second round of the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship. Here are the key figures for the famous Italian track.

29: This weekend will take place the 29th edition of a Grand Prix in Imola. The circuit hosted Formula 1 continuously from 1980 to 2006. It returned to the calendar last year due to the coronavirus crisis and will therefore be held for the second consecutive year.
7: With his 7 wins, Michael Schumacher is the most successful driver at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. He surpasses the inseparable duo of Alain Prost / Ayrton Senna and their 3 wins each.
5: Before officially hosting the F1, Imola hosted 5 non-championship races: 1 in 1963 won by Jim Clark, 1 in 1979 won by Niki Lauda, and 3 Formula 2 races between 1970 and 1972 bringing together the best drivers of the time (Clay Regazzoni, Carlos Pace, and John Surtees to name just a few winners).
3: As the number of names that the Grand Prix races in Imola have had: the Italian Grand Prix in 1980 (Monza being under construction), the San Marino Grand Prix (1981-2006), and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix (since 2020).
1:13.609: The time set by Valtteri Bottas last year to secure pole position during qualifying. This is also the fastest lap ever recorded on the circuit.
63: This is the number of laps that the drivers will have to cover this Sunday during the Grand Prix.
4,909: The distance of one lap of the Imola circuit. This is essentially the same layout as the one used in 1995 and 2006 with one exception: the removal of the last chicane reducing the distance by a few meters per lap.
2: As the number of winners still active on this track. Unsurprisingly, they are the world champions Fernando Alonso (2005) and Lewis Hamilton (2020). Only 3 other drivers have already stepped on the podium of this race: Kimi Räikkönen in 2003 as well as Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricciardo last year.
As a reminder, the start of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will take place at 3:00 pm this Sunday. Find the TV schedule of this Grand Prix whose Friday and Saturday schedules have been changed due to Prince Philip’s funeral.
