The British Grand Prix will take place in front of full stands
This Thursday, F1 and the Silverstone circuit announced that the race can take place in front of full grandstands, after the event was added to the UK government's virus spread research program.
This is wonderful news. The British Grand Prix will be able to take place with full capacity. A few days after casting doubt on the presence of a large audience, the race at the Silverstone circuit will finally be able to take place in front of full stands.
A statement states that this decision was made following the introduction of the race into the British government’s events research program.
We are pleased to confirm that the 2021 Pirelli British Grand Prix Formula 1 has been included in the latest phase of the British government’s Events Research Programme (ERP) allowing a full capacity crowd for the event between 16th and 18th July.
« Ticket holders will be required to provide either a negative test taken within 48 hours of their arrival at Silverstone, or proof of full vaccination, with the second dose having been received at least 14 days before the first day of participation in the British Grand Prix.
« The Silverstone team will work closely with ERP experts and in particular the Director of Public Health for Northamptonshire on specific entry conditions that will allow the event to take place safely and will announce these details to ticket holders in the next ten days.
The CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, is delighted with the Grand Prix being held at full capacity and wishes to thank the people involved in this decision.
It’s fantastic news that Silverstone will be a full-capacity event and it will be an amazing weekend with hundreds of thousands of fans who will be there to see our first Sprint race on Saturday and the main event on Sunday.
