The Ferrari 640 and the Williams FW14 by Nigel Mansell up for auction
The 1992 World Champion Nigel Mansell has offered two of his race cars to RM Sotheby's. The 1989 Ferrari 640 and the 1991 Williams FW14 will soon be auctioned.

After Michael Schumacher’s F-300, another Ferrari is going to be put up for auction. Nigel Mansell has offered his Ferrari 640 to RM Sotheby’s, a used car auction company. With this single-seater, Mansell won two victories in the 1989 season. The legendary British driver with the iconic mustache triumphed in the opening race in Brazil before repeating his success in Hungary a few weeks later. Mansell finished the season in fourth place in the championship, which was won by Alain Prost ahead of Ayrton Senna.”
The Worcestershire driver returns to Williams in 1991, for whom he raced between 1985 and 1988. Thanks to the FW14, Mansell achieves five victories, including three consecutive wins at Magny-Cours, Hockenheim, and Silverstone. A remarkable season, but insufficient to deprive Ayrton Senna of his third world championship.
These two legendary cars were therefore donated by Mansell to be sold on May 14th in Monaco. Collectors should expect to spend a considerable amount to acquire them, as the Ferrari 640 is estimated between 2.5 and 5 million euros, and the FW14 between 1.5 and 3 million euros.
