F1 calendar confirmed by the FIA for the 2023 season
The FIA has made official the F1 calendar for next season, 2023. There will be 23 races in 2023, including 6 in sprint format. The Chinese Grand Prix will not be replaced, as the FIA has not specified any line-up for which a replacement is expected.
Today, the International Automobile Federation, gathered in Bologna, confirmed the inclusion of 23 Formula 1 Grand Prix races on the 2023 calendar.
The disappearance of the Chinese Grand Prix has been officially announced, and as a result, for the 2023 season, we will see the addition of the Qatar and Las Vegas Grand Prix, as well as the removal of the French Grand Prix.
The French Grand Prix could have been a great replacement following the cancellation of the Chinese Grand Prix for health reasons, but it doesn’t seem to be in the pipeline, as the FIA has not announced any provisional plan as they typically do when a Grand Prix is awaiting a replacement.
As we mentioned earlier, F1 will indeed have sprint races in 2023 and their number will even be doubled to go from 3 in 2022 to 6 in 2023.
It is noted that in 2023 there will therefore be a record of 23 races spread over a period of 40 weeks.
Three triple F1 GP wins in 2023.
The first “triple-header”, three consecutive races, will take place between the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix and the Monaco Grand Prix, with a visit to Italy, Barcelona, and Monaco over the span of three weeks. This will take place from May 21 to June 4.
The second triple-header will take place between September 15th and October 8th during the East tour of Singapore, Japan, and Qatar.
The last hat-trick will continue within the ranks of the second place, with the American sequence of Austin, Mexico and Brazil between October 22nd and November 5th.

The F2 calendar
The F2 calendar has also been approved. It will feature 14 races next season. Melbourne is making its debut on the F2 calendar for the first time, replacing the French Grand Prix.
