Cosworth does not consider a return to F1 with Ford
Historical partner of Ford in F1, the English brand Cosworth doesn't plan on making a comeback in the pinnacle of motorsport, despite the return of the Detroit giant in Grand Prix.

Ford and Cosworth have been closely linked in the history of F1. Longstanding partners in the design of some of the most victorious engines, the two companies will not be reunited when the blue oval brand returns to F1 in 2026.
Recently announced as a future partner of Red Bull within the Red Bull Powertrains entity, Ford will thus make its return after over twenty years of absence and the failure of the Jaguar team after five seasons, from 2000 to 2004. Ford will not therefore rely on Cosworth, who has other ambitions for the future according to its CEO, Hal Reisinger.
(A) A commitment in Formula 1 requires the involvement of all your resources if you want it to be successful. And I don’t consider doing anything that is not excellent. This would require creating a new entity within the organization dedicated exclusively to Formula 1.
Although Ford left Formula 1 at the end of 2004, Cosworth continued to provide engines to teams under its name, notably Williams, Lotus, HRT, and Virgin. So far, the last team to be powered by Cosworth was Marussia in 2013.
Reisinger adds that his company is frequently consulted when engine regulations evolve: « We are consulted when rules change because the Federation respects our opinion and they want to consider the widest range of possible options. »
As of today, Ford-Cosworth is still the third engine manufacturer in terms of number of victories behind Ferrari and Mercedes.
