The Belgian Grand Prix is fast approaching. It will be Daniel Ricciardo’s second race of the season. The Australian was happy with his weekend in Hungary and wants to do better for the last race before the summer break.

« My whole weekend in Budapest was really good, making me feel all the things I missed, like the adrenaline and being on the starting grid, these emotions are really powerful. I felt that our pace wasn’t bad and there might even have been a chance for points if I hadn’t had to start from the back after being hit on the first lap. It was good that the car wasn’t damaged, so I was able to complete the 70 laps and I felt physically fine at the end. There were a lot of things to be happy about. », declared the eight-time Grand Prix winner.

The AlphaTauri driver is happy to return to Spa and race for the second consecutive week. « I am happy to have a second race in a row and to go to Spa now. I think it was a good start and it will be good to jump straight into the car after only a few days, as I will keep the rhythm. It should accelerate my learning and improvements. That’s the plan, that is to say, to continue making progress », explained the 34-year-old driver for his team’s website.

Belgium is a circuit that appeals to Formula 1 driver number 3. [Spa-Francorchamps](/f1/actualite/31178-les-horaires-programme-tv-du-grand-prix-belgique-f1-2023.html) is an opportunity for the AlphaTauri driver to score points in this weekend’s sprint race.

« I think Spa is still a challenge, the circuit itself is one of the best and the weather is always a factor, but I will face it with confidence, after the way things went in Hungary. I want to be optimistic about it, but I also have to stay grounded, as there’s still a lot to learn. It’s a sprint format, which means it will be a pretty busy period, with only one practice session, and then straight to qualifying. I plan on doing a lot more laps, having fun, and trying to score points on Sunday. »
