Ferrari modifies “95%” of its F1 2024 compared to its predecessor

After numerous problems with their Ferrari, the Italian team failed to achieve the desired result. With a view to a new season, the team wants to improve their performance in the hope of competing with Red Bull. Ferrari team boss Frédéric Vasseur explained this in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

On February 13th, the highly anticipated unveiling of the new Ferrari will take place: The 676, its temporary name. While the exact specifications of the car are still a mystery, one thing is certain: Ferrari is preparing to introduce significant changes at the beginning of the Formula 1 season.

During a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Frédéric Vasseur offered an intriguing insight into what fans of the Italian team can expect. « The rules remain the same, so a revolution is not permitted », emphasized the French director. « However, we will be changing 95% of the car. We have tried to improve every detail in our quest for better performance, and the drivers have been involved from the beginning ».

This bold statement from Vasseur indicates Ferrari’s commitment to reach new heights of performance. The team director added: “We expect to be faster, the simulator results confirm it, but it is only when we start comparing lap times with Red Bull and the others that we will know exactly by how much.”

Sufficient modifications?

Will the new Ferrari be up to par to compete with the long-dominant Red Bull team in the world of Formula 1? Vasseur remains optimistic. He predicts a decrease in Austrian dominance.

However, he remains realistic in light of the budget cap that makes it difficult to fully cover any potential deficit. « They still have the advantage. We will see how they start the season », Vasseur concluded.
