Williams will indeed have two chassis available in Suzuka, but not one more
After Alex Albon's accident in the FP1 of the Australian Grand Prix, Williams was forced to sacrifice Logan Sargeant in order to lend his chassis to the British driver. In one week, the Japanese Grand Prix will take place, the team is doing everything to be ready on time.

After a difficult weekend in Melbourne, Williams has a crucial mission: to repair the chassis that was damaged during the first free practice session at the Albert Park circuit. The entire team at the Grove factory is working hard to be ready for Suzuka in a week.
James Vowles, Director of the Williams Racing team, seems confident. In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the English team, he announces that the team will be on schedule to retrieve its two chassis for Japan.
« I am confident that we will be able to repair the chassis. We have implemented measures to ensure that the chassis is back early Monday morning. The team at the factory has worked on it, disassembled it, and made repairs. This Thursday we are on track to have the chassis ready on time for Suzuka. »
Logan Sargeant should make his comeback
The American who sacrificed himself to let his teammate race at the Australian GP should therefore be present after what he described as the most difficult moment of his career.
James Vowles is grateful for what Sargeant did. He understands that it is a team sport. It is the weirdest sport in the world, where I have two drivers but it is a team sport.
Williams wants to put him in the best possible conditions in Japan. The team director explains his strategy. « One of the methods I have implemented with him so far is the structure, the fact that we discuss his strengths and weaknesses, the help and support to help him progress. »
« The truth is that with a driver, when he gets back in the car, in Japan for him, he will find himself only a few thousandths behind Alex. That’s what he did in the last Grand Prix races. You will see the confidence will come back, he insists.
Even if Williams will show up with its two drivers in Japan, the situation remains precarious since once again, the team will not have a spare chassis, any violent off-track exit would become a problem. Indeed, the team that has not scored any points in the championship so far, is working on a tight schedule regarding spare parts.
