As the Formula 1 season takes a break before heading to the United States Grand Prix (October 18-20), the different teams will be able to prepare their cars as best as possible for the end of the year. Pirelli is taking advantage, as it regularly does during the season, to conduct tests in preparation for the upcoming seasons. This Tuesday and Wednesday, the Italian manufacturer will be present at Magny-Cours for two days of testing ahead of the 2025 season.

It will be the Mercedes cars that will have the honor of driving on the French circuit, with, as is often the case for this type of test, mule cars. On October 1 and 2, Mercedes will work with us at Magny-Cours on the development of the 2025 tires, with one day dedicated to rain tires, says the statement from Pirelli.

Common tests

These tests, essential for the proper development of tire compounds, are quite frequent throughout the year. It is not uncommon to see them being carried out on circuits that are not on the calendar. The circuit Magny-Cours had already welcomed Pirelli and Mercedes in December last year for similar tests. The Paul Ricard circuit, for its part, had opened its doors to the manufacturer last May, with the Ferraris.

Pirelli has also started on-track testing for its next-generation tires, adapted to the F1 2026 regulations. Aston Martin was the first to conduct tests in Barcelona a few days ago. These are expected to intensify once the tires for the 2025 season are finalized.
