Lewis Hamilton reacts to Max Verstappen’s title: “He made no mistakes”
"They have been the best. He made no mistake. It is fully deserved." Lewis Hamilton congratulated Max Verstappen for winning his fourth Formula 1 World Championship title.

Max Verstappen clinched his fourth consecutive title, thanks to a fifth-place finish at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, finishing one place ahead of his title rival, Lando Norris.
Although the Dutch driver has won eight races this year, seven of these victories took place in the first 10 races. Since the end of June, Max Verstappen has only won once (in Brazil), while McLaren has often had the upper hand over Red Bull.
After the race in Vegas, Lewis Hamilton was questioned about his reaction to Verstappen’s new title.
Congratulations to Max and his team. They have done an amazing job these past four years. They have been the best. He did not make any mistakes. It is well deserved, he declares on Sky Sports microphone.
An incredible comeback
Regarding his own race, the seven-time world champion went from 10th place in qualifying to finish second, allowing Mercedes to achieve its first one-two of the season, with George Russell leading the race.
Lewis Hamilton didn’t see it as a « and even if his race pace seemed superior to Russell’s: « No, no. I don’t see things that way », he said. « I just look forward. It was great to progress today. I’m really happy. »
« I don’t think the team understands why we were so fast today. The car was really excellent. It’s a great performance. The guys did an amazing job with the pit stops.
« For us, getting a double is just incredible. I am grateful to have been able to recover all the positions lost. If I had done the work I should have done yesterday, the race would have been a little easier. But I enjoyed coming back. It reminded me of my early days at Rye House, when I used to overtake people.
