The FIA publishes the list of participants for the 2025 F1 season and there are two big surprises

The FIA released this Friday, December 13, the list of drivers and teams currently entered for the 2025 F1 World Championship. Sergio Perez is confirmed at Red Bull, but there remains a vacant seat, according to this official list, as Liam Lawson is not confirmed by Racing Bulls. The other surprise involves Ferrari, which is not second in the pit lanes.

A few hours before the FIA gala, which is to be followed live from 8 PM this Friday evening, the FIA has published on its website the official list of participants registered for the 2025 F1 championship.

While Liam Lawson finished the 2024 season with Racing Bulls after replacing Daniel Ricciardo, it turns out he has not been officially listed as participating in the 2025 season. For now, therefore, at Racing Bulls, a seat is still available alongside Yuki Tsunoda.

Despite the certainty of Sergio Perez’s eviction from Red Bull, who is reportedly negotiating his departure with the Red Bull management team, the Mexican driver is indeed registered for the 2025 championship with Red Bull by the FIA.

A surprise in the teams’ standings

On the side of the other teams, there are no surprises regarding the drivers. However, the positions of the teams are interesting. Indeed, this publication allows us to observe the order of the teams, which should be based on the constructors’ standings and thus simulate the positions of the teams in the pit lane.

McLaren will indeed be first as they enter the pits, but while Scuderia Ferrari finished second in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship standings, Red Bull holds second place. This order is due to the fact that if the world champion driver is not in the world champion team, then his team must appear second.

Thus, Scuderia Ferrari appears only in third place, ahead of Mercedes. The other teams follow the order of the constructors’ standings.

It should be noted that on the rookie side, Kimi Antonelli will race with number 12, while Jack Doohan will use number 7, Ollie Bearman number 87, and Gabriel Bortoleto number 5.
