Sergio Perez’s future will be announced in the coming days”
Helmut Marko has hinted that Red Bull's imminent decision on its second driver for the 2025 F1 season will be made « in the next few days ».

Red Bull reportedly held a meeting on Monday, after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, to discuss the future of Sergio Perez in Formula 1.
The poor form of Sergio Perez for more than two-thirds of the season led Red Bull to finish third in the Constructors’ Championship, their worst ranking since 2019. The Mexican has failed to secure a podium since the Chinese Grand Prix last April.
In his latest column for Speedweek, Helmut Marko revealed that Red Bull will announce news regarding its driver duo later this week. He also dismissed Nico Rosberg’s outlandish theory that Red Bull should pay $16 million to Sergio Perez to break his current contract.
« We will announce news regarding the driver duo for next year in the coming days, » wrote Helmut Marko. « There is a lot of speculation about this, including rumors about possible transfer fees, which is completely absurd. »
Yuki Tsunoda congratulated by Red Bull
Last week, Yuki Tsunoda had his first opportunity to drive for Red Bull during the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi.
Yuki Tsunoda expressed satisfaction with how easily he adapted to the RB20, even though he didn’t achieve a particularly impressive time.
Helmut Marko congratulated Yuki Tsunoda for his efforts, revealing that the team was satisfied with his technical feedback.
« Yuki had the chance to take to the track with the RB20 during the post-season tests, and the team was happy with his technical feedback, » added Helmut Marko. « In this respect, he is much better than what is said about him. »
But according to information from Canal+, it’s Liam Lawson who is expected to replace Sergio Perez. According to Julien Fébreau: « The decision will be announced by the end of the week. »
