Ferrari will unveil its new car the day after the official event for the F1 season launch, on February 19th, in London. Although no additional details have been provided, the team is expected to hold its launch at its headquarters in Maranello, as usual.

The Ferrari presentation will take place right after the official launch of the F1 season at the O2 in London, where the 20 drivers and 10 teams will unveil their liveries to the public for the first time. Although some teams may choose to reveal their new cars before the event, it is likely that most will wait until after this event, as preseason testing will only begin on February 26 in Bahrain.

Ferrari, world championship goal?

Ferrari approaches the 2025 season with the objective of winning the world championship, following a solid performance this year. The team also draws great interest due to the arrival of Lewis Hamilton, who will be teaming up with Charles Leclerc.

The coincidence of dates between the official launch of the F1 season and the Ferrari event means that the team has ruled out any official presentation of Lewis Hamilton as a Scuderia driver, unlike what was done for Michael Schumacher in 1996.

During an event in Maranello on Wednesday, the team director, Fred Vasseur, said: « We must stay focused on the season. The period between the first day and the launch will be very short, on the order of a few weeks. I want everyone to concentrate on performance. We will have the championship launch and the car launch. That’s already two events, and it’s more than enough. »

Ferrari has not yet decided when Lewis Hamilton will conduct his first test in a Scuderia car, but the team hopes to organize a session with a previous car, probably the 2023 model, either at Fiorano or Maranello.

Fred Vasseur specified that the schedule would depend on the weather conditions, but that he was not overly concerned about it: “He’s not the rookie of the year, I’m not worried about that at all,” he said.

« We know that there are a lot of procedures to assimilate over these few days, but he has enough experience to manage it. We have the advantage of having the simulator, and he will be able to perform a race and qualification simulation in the simulator to fully familiarize himself with the steering wheel and all the car’s specifics. But I’m not worried about that; it’s not the biggest challenge. »
