Lando Norris prepares his quest for the F1 title in 2025
After a solid but frustrating 2024 season, Lando Norris is setting his sights on conquering the F1 world title in 2025, and he plans to do it his way.
Lando Norris, the British McLaren driver, is determined to challenge the norms of Formula 1. At the dawn of the 2025 season, he positions himself as a serious contender for the world championship title.
Yet, behind his on-track performances, another battle is being fought. Lando Norris categorically refuses to conform to industry expectations. “I feel like everyone is so stuck up,” he says in an interview on the podcast The Fast and The Curious Podcast. McLaren has had a successful 2024 season, with a spectacular return to the top spots. But for the Briton, this success shouldn’t be measured solely by victories. It is based on a personal vision of the sport, far from the usual constraints. “That’s how it should be done,” he says.
A different approach to managing pressure
The 2024 season was not without difficulties for Lando Norris. The British driver had to face not only media pressure but also often harsh criticism about his approach to racing. Lando Norris did not clinch the title. But for him, it’s not a failure. It’s simply another step towards his goal.
« It’s simply about finding your own way of living, your own way of thinking, your own way of speaking », he explains. The McLaren driver refuses to be boxed into a « norm » imposed by others. « There is never really a right or wrong way to do many things, but people too often think there is one », he confides. Instead of conforming to a model, Lando Norris has decided to follow his own path.
For the 2025 season, the outcome of the battle for the title seems more open than ever. McLaren, well-equipped, gives Norris the opportunity to play a leading role. And he is ready. “I know I’m going to make mistakes, that I won’t race perfectly and that kind of thing, like any athlete,” he admits honestly. But the idea of being paralyzed by this truth is far from him. On the contrary, Norris shows a renewed confidence. The pressure building on his shoulders? He welcomes it with open arms. For him, this burden is a fuel for motivation. “I know that’s what will push me to excel,” he declares, strengthened by his experience.

Lando Norris, the nonconformist
At 25, Lando Norris is not a novice. He already has four Grand Prix victories to his name, but he doesn’t plan to stop there. Far from conforming to others’ expectations, he has chosen to question everything.
His performances in 2024, although good, are not sufficient to satisfy him. What he seeks above all is to show that his way of living and thinking about Formula 1 is just as legitimate as anyone else’s.
“I am going to approach this year like that, following my own path,” declares Lando Norris, determined.
