Aston Martin confirms Lance Stroll’s return for the Canadian Grand Prix
Aston Martin has confirmed that Lance Stroll will be back at the wheel for the Canadian Grand Prix, after missing the previous race in Spain.

The team based in Silverstone announced, a few hours after the qualifiers in Barcelona, that Lance Stroll would not participate in Sunday’s Grand Prix. The 26-year-old Canadian was indeed set to undergo a medical procedure after experiencing pain in his hand and wrist.

Doubts about his presence in Montreal
The team’s medical consultant had specified that these pains were related to an operation undergone in 2023. As a reminder, Lance Stroll had fractured several bones and a toe in a cycling accident before the 2023 season, which required surgery followed by rehabilitation.
But after this latest procedure, Lance Stroll is ready to get back behind the wheel of the AMR25 in front of his home crowd in Montreal, less than two weeks after withdrawing in Spain. “I’m super happy to be back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend,” said the Aston Martin driver.
« I have always intended to do everything to be ready to race in front of the fans in Montreal. I feel good after the procedure and I was able to do a few laps at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thank you all for the support, see you this weekend! »
After the weekend in Spain, Mike Krack, Aston Martin’s track operations director, stated that Lance Stroll’s return in Montreal was the team’s plan A. If needed, a plan B would have called upon reserve drivers Felipe Drugovich or Stoffel Vandoorne, both of whom are competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend.
“I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd. I’m feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks… pic.twitter.com/F0iBHUvluU
