Lando Norris promises to « turn the page » after his collision with Oscar Piastri
Lando Norris says he will « move on » after his collision with teammate Oscar Piastri at the F1 Canadian Grand Prix.

Lando Norris stated he wants to move forward after his collision with his teammate Oscar Piastri during the Canadian Grand Prix of F1.
A fratricidal collision
The Briton’s race ended prematurely after colliding with the back of Oscar Piastri’s McLaren on the main straight, as he attempted to overtake him for 4th place in the final laps of a 70-lap race in Montreal.
Oscar Piastri was able to retain this fourth position after a stop under the safety car. He thus widens the gap in the championship against Lando Norris, now with a 22-point lead after the first ten rounds.
Lando Norris immediately acknowledged his responsibility in the incident, accepting full blame for a collision that McLaren will quickly want to forget in its fight for the two world titles this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports News before the premiere of the F1 movie in New York on Monday night, Lando Norris said: « What is done is done, I regretted it at the time and I apologized for it. »
« Unfortunately, that’s also part of racing. I accept it, and I have to move on. I need to focus on the next race and see how to do better, to avoid making these kinds of silly mistakes. »
« There are also many positive things, and I will rely on them. Once I am in a good rhythm, I know I can be very happy », he states.

An important mental test for Lando Norris
Jenson Button, who experienced a very similar collision with his teammate Lewis Hamilton on this same circuit in 2011, believes that the way Lando Norris reacts will be crucial.
« I like that there is a real internal battle because it’s a fight for the world championship. It’s good that they are fighting to the fullest », said the 2009 champion.
« It’s a pivotal moment for them, they must seize their opportunity now, as you never know when the next opportunity will arise—or if it will arise again, with future regulatory changes. »
They are both fighting for this championship, but it happens. Lewis and I collided at the same place 14 years ago! It’s part of the game.
« This is where we’ll see if Lando is mentally strong, if he can bounce back and come out stronger.
We will have to meet in Austria from June 27 to 29 to see if the British driver will be able to bounce back and catch up with his teammate, who seems untouchable.
