The Alpine LMDh has returned to the track

After successful testing at Le Castellet, Alpine continues its preparation for the Hypercar next year. The A424 took to the track at the Lurcy Levis circuit, in the Allier region.

The constructors’ offensive will continue in Hypercar next season. While BMW, Lamborghini, and Isotta Fraschini are preparing their weapons, Alpine is not wasting any time.

The A424 had already hit the track, at Le Castellet, for its very first shakedown. The choice of the Paul-Ricard circuit was a good one, as Oreca, based in Signes, is the chassis supplier for the French Hypercar.

The interview with Hugues de Chaunac can be discovered or rediscovered here, to talk, among other things, about Oreca’s commitment in Hypercar.

A secret job

Social media has shown a small glimpse of the French team’s trials. Several F1 staff members were present at the Bourbonnais circuit to assist with the development of the LMDh.

The V6 Mecachrome still produces such a beautiful melody, reminiscent of those of Porsche’s Flat-6 or the Formula 2 engine.

The drivers behind the wheel are the same as at Le Castellet: Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxivière, who were present with the adapted LMP1 in Hypercar, and Charles Milesi, the current driver of car number 36 in LMP2.

The Lurcy Lévis circuit is ideal for testing the entire car: it has a very long straight line, as well as banked turns. Further information should be coming in the next few days.
