At the 6 Hours of Imola, Alpine signs its best result since Fuji 2024
Thanks to a shifted strategy, Alpine was able to secure another podium finish with its A424. Mick Schumacher, driving the final stint in the #36, handled the situation perfectly.

Given his performances with Alpine, Mick Schumacher has every reason to put a definitive end to a career in single-seater racing. The German has consistently improved since his transition to endurance racing. And he proved it once again in Imola.
The driver of the #36 perfectly managed the end of the race and was able to keep a #83 Ferrari, which was on a crazy pace, at bay. Thanks to this management, the son of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion was able to offer his team its second podium since returning to WEC.
« It was a great race and I’m really happy with the result. The most important thing is to score big points and I believe our strategy was the key today, with the help of some incidents ahead of us. We achieved something we initially thought was not possible and we can be proud of our progress so far », highlighted the German.

His work in the hypercar category was highlighted by his teammates, who were also very good throughout the weekend. Alpine has made significant progress compared to 2024, and it shows. Today, on the grid, Ferrari is far ahead, with BMW on their heels. Just behind, Philippe Sinault’s team could very often be the winner of the “best of the rest” spot. Toyota, Cadillac, Peugeot, and Porsche currently have a lower level of performance.
At Imola, the A424 was consistently in rhythm. Both cars made it into the hyperpole zone and were very threatening at the start of the race. However, despite these positive aspects, there is a black mark. The #35.
First Points of 2025
While he was just a few seconds behind, Ferdinand Habsburg made two major mistakes at the start of the race. The Austrian was penalized for an infraction under the virtual safety car. And later, he went off into the Tamburello gravel, costing him valuable time.
« It is a disappointing result for our crew, but our pace was as strong as that of our teammates who finished on the podium. Unfortunately, we made a few mistakes, and the gaps are so small that the slightest detail can make all the difference. We need to focus on the positive and the fact that our package continues to improve. We still have a lot of work to do, and we must use this result and the team’s mindset to make further progress », he acknowledged.
Thanks to the result of car #36, Alpine scored points for the first time this season and sends a serious message to its competitors. The Blues will have to be reckoned with for the rest of the season.
