Following a convincing result, Alpine believes it has reached a turning point. In Fuji, the French team achieved its first podium. According to the team principal, this milestone came much earlier than expected. Indeed, the Hypercar project is very recent since it has not yet completed its first full season.

After this third position of the crew of #36, the whole Alpine team will focus on the future and consolidate the foundations of this first good result. It will therefore be necessary to confirm in Bahrain in just over a month. It is at that moment that a first assessment of project A424 can be made.

After the last round of the FIA World Endurance Championship season, the team based in Bourges will know which direction to take.

Could the United States and IMSA be on Alpine’s radar? During the presentation of the Hypercar in 2023, Bruno Famin, the head of Alpine motorsport, had mentioned this option for 2025. Is the project still relevant?

« If one day, there is the presence of an A424 in Alpine, it must be correlated with a commercial activation or commercial strategy. That is not my subject today », replied Philippe Sinault, head of Alpine endurance.

« But if tomorrow Alpine decides to go to the American continent to sell cars, we will be ready. But the technical package will be eligible immediately. If one day you see an entry list at Daytona for example, and the Alpine is there, you will say “oh, there is a commercial project behind this”. The aim is not to do just a one-shot.

« If I am told “you are going to go running in IMSA”, I will not turn up my nose, I will go. » But to invest in the American continent, one will have to increase resources. Both human and financial. Racing on the other side of the Atlantic represents a significant budget as there are about ten races on the calendar each season.
