Racing Bulls arrive in Miami with new features to combat Haas
The Racing Bulls team is gearing up for the Miami Grand Prix (May 3-5), to continue its battle for second place in the standings.

The team based in Faenza finds itself engaged in an intense battle with Haas in the lower half of the table. The pack chasing the leading teams in the championship (Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, and Aston Martin).
The current competitiveness of the F1 grid means that there are few points to be won for the last five teams, so Haas and Racing Bulls must do everything possible to seize the opportunities that arise. The gaps are also very small this year.
Racing Bulls currently leads this private battle against Haas, having scored seven points so far this year compared to five for its rival, but a double retirement in China proved costly by not allowing it to widen its lead. With so little difference in performance between the teams, every gain is critical, which is why Racing Bulls has decided to introduce some developments in Miami.
Speaking to Autosport, the head of the RB team, Laurent Mekies, declared: “We will have improvements in Miami to help us continue to surf at the top of this very narrow limit. Nothing is guaranteed in this group. I am sure that our competitors will also bring updates and it is only if you succeed over the weekend that you will reach this P10.”
Racing Bulls seems to have had the pace advantage over Haas, but its rival managed to bring home a good haul of points. Mekies said the gaps between the two teams were so small that he had no confidence to claim that his team was controlling the fight.
(de) We have never been sure that we had the fastest car of the five [teams at the back]. We got it there by half a tenth in Australia, in Japan, and we missed it by half a tenth in China. In the race, we were probably equal, or slightly ahead. So we have never been very confident. It’s a battle every time. But it’s a fantastic exercise for everyone. It’s great training for the team to execute flawless weekends, and you need a strong race in every aspect. It’s only by doing this that you will get a point. As soon as one of these elements, whether it’s tire management, strategy, or something else, goes off track, you lose that point. »
